Lake Tahoe's Hidden Gem: The Hideout Lodge

Being based in the Bay Area affords us the opportunity to plan mini vacations when we need to restore and reset. Lake Tahoe is the perfect distance for a quick getaway, but it can be less majestic when it's brimming with visitors. However, we were incredibly fortunate to have found a truly hidden gem of Lake Tahoe - The Hideout Lodge.

Nestled in the Kirkwood mountainside, the Hideout Lodge is an unbelievable place on every level. The beautiful architecture is surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest, green open meadows, rivers, streams, a private lake, and granite mountain tops. The main lodge is huge, at 5,000 sq ft with 5 bedrooms, and sits right on the water. Right behind it, the Saloon has a true old-western style bar on the main floor and bedrooms upstairs. The property covers about 40 acres of pristine mountain landscape, including a private lake and granite-covered rock hillsides. This place quickly became our favorite location for annual group trips and a dream wedding venue.

We were thrilled to be able to enjoy the last dawn patrol hike for the season and the next morning we woke up to a dusting of snow and a new landscape entirely. I can't wait to see the Lodge all covered in white. No matter the season, I always leave with the warmest of feelings in my heart.

The Lodge offers a truly unique and secluded experience, away from the crowds of more well-known areas of Lake Tahoe. The private lake and vast natural surroundings provide endless opportunities for outdoor activities, from hiking and fishing to kayaking and swimming. The lodge itself is luxurious and spacious, with amenities such as a hot tub, fire pit, and BBQ area, making it the perfect place for a group getaway or special event.

In addition to the natural beauty and seclusion, the Lodge also offers the perfect blend of modern amenities and rustic charm. The main lodge and saloon are beautifully designed and decorated, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The lodge staff is friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with any needs or recommendations.
