Movie Premiere: “Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch”

Movie Premiere: “Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch” at the Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema

The premiere of Plastic Paradise at the Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema was a powerful and thought-provoking experience for all who attended. Director Angela Sun's presentation on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and the devastating effects of plastic pollution on our planet, was both enlightening and sobering. The film itself was a powerful reminder of the urgent need to reduce our reliance on single-use plastics, and to take action to protect the environment for future generations.

The event was made even more special by the presence of the Sierra Watershed Educational Partnerships (SWEP), TTUSD green teams, Missy Mohler, Ashley Phillips, and the Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema, who have all been instrumental in supporting this important cause. Their dedication and commitment to raising awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution is truly admirable.

Overall, the event was a huge success, with many attendees pledging to take action and reduce their own plastic footprint. We are grateful to everyone who came out to support SVI and this important cause. We hope that the film and the discussion that followed will continue to inspire people to take action and protect our planet for future generations.
